Craig Lomax lays down the gauntlet for other British Super1600 hopefuls

The first round of the British Rallycross Championship saw Craig Lomax and his Milltek Sport-supported Citroen C2 head to Croft Circuit to start their 2015 campaign. Unfortunately for them there were no other Super1600 cars entered down to other cars not being ready. This meant they had to run in the Supermodified class against a field of much more powerful cars.

Having spent two straight days on the rolling road in the lead up to the event the car was pretty much untested on track. It wasn’t something that should have worried Craig and the team as the car didn’t miss a beat from practice to finals. As Craig grew accustomed to the new car he was in fact closing on the more powerful competition.

Craig has certainly sent a strong message to the other Super1600 hopefuls in the British Championship and quite possibly raised the bar for this season.

Craig and the team now look to round 2 which will see the championship head to Lydden Hill in Kent returning to its traditional Easter Monday slot.
